How long have you been in business?
DJs To Go began operations in 1980. Top of page

bi-lingual DJs Top of page
Yes, we currently have several to choose from.

What type
of music is your specialty?
Because we have several DJs, we have nearly every specialty covered
with an experienced professional. Top
of page
Can
I see my DJ performing before I sign any paperwork?
In most cases, the answer is no. DJs To Go feels that inviting
you to another bride's wedding would be in very poor taste. The good news,
is that we won't invite any unexpected guests to your wedding. We've found
that meeting face to face with your DJ is the best way to determine if he or she
is the right person for you. Occasionally, we provide entertainment for a
public event. We would encourage you to visit your prospective DJ there if
possible. You may also view client evaluations about your DJ.

Why do you use DJ
contracts?
Contracts spell out clearly what you will be provided and what is
expected. Contracts also commit your DJ to being at your event. DJs
To Go doesn't want you to have any last minute surprises. We've found that
putting things in writing seems to clear things up and make most brides and
grooms more comfortable. In addition, contracts are a normal and expected
part of being an experienced professional. DJs who work on a hand shake
agreement tend to "flake out" at the last minute and leave their
clients in a tough spot. Top
of page
Can
DJs To Go provide ceremony music too?
Yes, we play ceremony music very regularly. Depending on the
configuration of your venue, you may need a second sound system. If you
do, there is a small additional charge, normally $100.
Top

Do your DJs take
breaks?
Normally DJs do not take
breaks. Top

of page

DJs To Go allow guests to make music requests?
If the bride and groom say it's OK, we accept requests. If the
bride and groom ask their DJ not to accept requests, your DJ will play only the
music you've asked to have played. It's your day, your musical selections
can be anything you'd like them to be.

too soft. Top

All DJs accept cash and checks. Some
also accept credit cards. Check
with your DJ as to his or her payment options.
Top of
page
What else does the DJ do?
DJs To Go is a full service DJ company.
After hand selecting your DJ, you will normally meet with your
entertainer two to four weeks before your wedding day to map out a game plan.
Your DJ will walk you through your wedding one step at a time. All you should do on your wedding day is show up and have
fun. If you need music in more than
one location or have a very large guest list, you may require additional
equipment. Top
of page
Will the DJ I choose be the DJ at my wedding?
DJs To Go guarantees in writing that the DJ you choose is the DJ that
plays music at your event. Many DJ
companies have a “substitution clause” that allows them to send any DJ they
want. DJs To Go doesn’t
operate that way. The DJ you meet
and like is the DJ you’ll see on your big day.
Top of
page
What if my DJ gets sick on my wedding day?
Although the DJ you choose is the DJ that is guaranteed to perform at
your wedding, people sometimes get sick and have accidents.
In this case, another experienced and qualified DJ will take the place of
your DJ. Because we have so many
DJs, you will never be stuck without a DJ at the last minute.
Top of
page
What kind of music do you play?
Music selection for your big day is normally a combination of efforts
between you and your DJ. Tell your
DJ what you like and what you don’t like.
He or she will play your requests and definitely not play the songs you
don’t want to hear. You can make as many or as few requests as you’re
comfortable with. If you know the
name of every song you want to hear, that’s great.
If you don’t know any song names or artists, your DJ will read the
crowd and play what appears to be appropriate for your friends and family
members.
In general, DJs To Go normally stays away from the extremes in music.
That is to say, the DJs don’t normally play any angry gang rap
or violent heavy metal. Please bear
in mind, they will play anything your ask them to play.
DJs normally provide all the music you’ll need for your party. However, you may want to provide your DJ with a CD if
you have some very specific song versions you'd like to hear.
A good example of this would be providing music you have rehearsed a
dance routine to.
Every event DJs To Go plays at is a custom made party.
Your song list might include artists such as Frank Sinatra and Etta James
while another bride might like to hear disco and 80s funk.
Sometimes a classical garden wedding is great and frequently a
contemporary feel is also good. The
music is as individual as the bride and groom.
DJs To Go can help make it a memorable and problem free day for you.
Top of
page
How old are your DJs?
Most of the DJs range from 30 and up.
We don’t have any very young DJs because we’ve found that most of our
clientele require more sophisticated and mature entertainers.
Top of
page
What if the sound system breaks?
DJs To Go keeps 10 sound systems ready to go at all times.
We give each system a complete check up every one to two weeks to insure
complete functionality. DJs To Go
also updates equipment on a regular and ongoing basis.
In addition, each DJ fills out an equipment report at the end of every
event. If anything on any system is
not working, DJs To Go management will receive a report and fix the problem
before it gets to your event. Top
of page
If you do happen to get a piece of equipment that malfunctions, each DJ has full
access to the complete line of equipment. Your
DJ can pick up another system from the DJs To Go inventory.
In the case that the DJ is too far from the gear storage area, each DJ is
authorized to purchase any equipment that is necessary to keep your event going.
Your wedding will not crash because of equipment issues.
